Meet the Directing Team
Rob Crew, Executive Director
Rob has been involved in camping for the past 37 years. Although most of those years have been spent with United Church camps, Rob has also worked in both Private and Agency camps as well as both day camp and residential settings. Over the years Rob has been actively involved in various aspects of church camping including Property Management, Staff Associate for Camping and has been the Camp Director at 2 United Church camps. When he is not at camp Rob is an Outdoor Education Specialist with the Toronto District School Board.
Todd Ormiston, Associate Director
Todd grew up spending his summers as a camper, CIT and later as a staff member at Sparrow Lake Camp. He has worked in many different areas of camp, eventually finding a niche in leadership programming. He is very excited to be beginning another summer as Associate Director. Todd believes in the magic of camp and is a believer that the work we do with youth in the outdoors can change lives. While not at camp in the summer, Todd is a Kindergarten teacher with the Limestone District School Board in Kingston, Ontario.
Kristen Hyodo, Assistant Director
Kristen spent her childhood summers at Sparrow, continuing on as a CIT to later become a staff member. Over the years Kristen has worked in various areas of camp, enjoying positions as Performing Arts Director, Programmer, and most recently as Assistant Director. As an advocate of leadership and teamwork, Kristen enjoys working with campers and helping them to reach their full potential. Kristen is a recent graduate of the University of Western Ontario, holding an honors degree in International Relations. As a true believer in the joy and magic of camping life, Kristen looks forward to another summer as Assistant Director.
